The sun. Truth. Healing. Prophecy. Art. Music. Archery.......

In the times of ancient Greece, the god Apollo was the embodiment of all these. One of the greatest gods of the Greeks and the Romans, Apollo left his mark far and wide throughout the tales of mythology.

Apollo was the son of Zeus, and the titaness, Leto. He was twin brother to the goddess, Artemis. His oracle at Delphi was considered the most accurate in the ancient world. Some even considered the oracle the "womb", or center of the world.

Of his music, it was said that when he took up his lyre and began to play, all of the gods of Olympus would cease their activity and listen.

Apollo's son, Asclepius, inherited his healing ability. The symbol of Asclepius, the caduceus, is still used by the medical establishment today.

This bronze sculpture depicts Apollo, rising above the clouds, holding the sun in his right hand. Solar flares burst upon the sensation of his presence. The sun also represents the internal energy, present in every living creature, originating in the realm of the spirit. The sun, the energy, has been summoned through his body like the harnessing of Chi. His left hand extends an offering of that energy, pulled forth from the source. It is a healing energy, offered to all of humanity, and all life upon the Earth.

On his head, a wreath created from the tree sacred to Apollo, the Laurel. The clouds surrounding his waist hold a secret or two to the keen observer.      * This amazing bronze has a limited edition of 28*
